Your Child’s First Teeth – Bottle – A Smile Pediatric Dentistry Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Carrollton, Dallas

Tooth decay can happen as soon as the baby’s teeth come in. Decay in children teeth can lead to cavities and pain. Left untreated, it can destroy the teeth of an infant or young child.

Babies have a higher risk for decay if their teeth are in contact with sugary liquids often or for long periods of time. These include fruit juice and soda. Bacteria in the mouth feed on the sugar in the drinks and the bacteria releases acids to attack teeth.

Never put your baby to bed with a bottle or use a bottle as a pacifier. Do not dip the pacifier in sugar/honey. Do not put it in your mouth either before giving to the baby. Cavity causing bacteria in your mouth can be passed to your baby.

A Smile Pediatric Dentistry proudly serves children in Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, and surrounding areas.
